Chester Philharmonic Orchestra

Lucy Holmes Violin

Lucy Holmes is fourteen years old and lives in North Wales. She is from a musical family and has been studying the violin for seven years. She started learning with Catherine Perkins and has been taught by Jan Repko since she was eleven. Lucy has been studying at Chetham’s School of Music since she was nine, and has just finished studying for her music GCSE. At school she enjoys playing solos in regular lunchtime concerts, her piano trio, and Chetham’s Sinfonia – the lower school orchestra. She was leader of the orchestra in the latest Chetham’s concert at Grappenhall. Lucy also represents her school in “outreach” concerts when the opportunity arises, and is accompanied by Brenda Blewett. She has participated in many masterclasses, most recently with Fionuolla Hunt. In her spare time, Lucy has a passion for sketching, spending time with her cats and her rabbit, and enjoys walking in the Welsh countryside with her family.
