Andrew Budden – Horn
Andrew, acting Principal Horn with the BBC Phil. is one of the youngest principals in the country. He was first appointed 5th horn to the BBC Philharmonic in 2006 when he was 21. Born in Cowbridge Glamorgan, Andrew first studied the horn with Arwell Jenkins and then Ian Fisher from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. He is a former member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and the European Union Youth Orchestra.
He has also appeared as guest principal with many of the country’s leading orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and most recently with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He has also played with the London Symphony Orchestra, including as 1st horn, and also with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.
